About Us

Control Systems & Equipment was formed as a partnership in 1971 as a distributor of motor control gear. Rapid expansion and a requirement for specialised, non-standard motor starters led to the formation of a separate manufacturing division. Further expansion took the company forward and provided industry with bespoke control panels and control systems as well as acting as a franchised distributor for many major manufacturers including ABB Ltd, Bussmann, Eldon, Tranilamp, Gewiss and Erico.

The continual expansion of the company necessitated several moves of premises, which ended with the move to the current office/warehouse/workshop in 1982. To enable us to service our customer base more effectively, an office/warehouse was established in Southampton in 1997. A specialist cable division was established in early 2007 in new premises close to our Bourne End head office. 2007 also saw the establishment of our in-house sheet steel fabrication facility in Woking.

Our involvement with the filling station industry goes back to the late 80’s when we were approached by Mobil Oil to supply distribution boards for their program of filling station upgrades and rebuilds. Over the years we have gained significant experience in the electrical systems relating to Filling Station.

We were incorporated into a limited company in 2001. Steady and controlled growth since then have enabled us offer our customers the benefits of working with a financially sound, experienced company and yet still have that personal touch!
